Lake Villa, Illinois; June 2012 - Burnishine Products is celebrating 125 years of supplying chemical products to pressrooms. Commenting on the event, Burnishine Products President Roger Giza said: "For 125 years, the Burnishine name has meant quality and consistency in the pressroom. The Burnishine brand was first seen when the J. C. Paul Company introduced a metal polish in 1887. The popularity of Burnishine Metal Polish prompted the company to use the Burnishine name of all its products. Shortly thereafter the company introduced Universal Putz Pomade, which was recommended for polishing hot metal in boiler plants. Printers used it to clean copper plates, and magazine publishers used it to clean rotogravure cylinders and linotype molds. Putz Pomade remains one of the best-selling Burnishine products after all these years."
